I love redecorating! There is something fun and relaxing about not spending much money but having a new look in a room.
The room I worked on was our kitchen. We recently purchased a Keurig coffee maker. We had tossed the idea around for awhile and finally decided to get one.
With the purchase of the new coffee maker meant finding someplace to store the K-cups. With our regular coffee maker we had a storage container next to the machine with the beans in it. This wasn't going to work.
I recently purchased a new computer which I talked about here. With the new computer, it meant that I could get rid of the ancient desktop. This freed up an area for a coffee bar :)
Here are some before photos of where the computer was:
I tried to keep it somewhat organized but it just wasn't working.
The computer was on the floor under the bar. The printer was on a 3 drawer plastic stand.
Here is the finished product:
I bought the shelf at Hobby Lobby this weekend on clearance for $20. The metal coffee cup on the top I already owned, its from Home Interiors. The plate was a gift from my mom last year and is from Hobby Lobby. The white and gold tea cup set on the second shelf is from the hubs great-grandparents 50th wedding anniversary, I loved that we had this and I could include something personal. I bought the red basket (where the K cups now live) at Hobby Lobby when I got the shelf, it was $8 and I got 40% off with their coupon. As for the quirky mugs, they are thrifted.
I bought the little sugar container at Hobby Lobby at 50% off $16. I had the clear glass tray. I may buy a new tray, I will have to see how it goes.
I found an out-of-the-way place to keep our printer and the 3 drawer stand.
I love the way it turned out and all for less than $40 (not including the Keurig, haha).
What a good idea to make this little space a coffee bar! If I drank coffee I would totally have one! ;)
