Pinterest Challenge Week #1

This was supposed to be for last week but I didn't get to work on it until this weekend.

The reason being is because Saturday was 1/2 off Saturday at the Goodwill and I can't pay full price if I know there is a sale coming up!!

This is what I got at Goodwill. All for $8.83.

For $8.83 I got: a milk jug, beer glass, 4 candle sticks, 4 plates, 2 bowls,  and a glass bowl stand thingy!

Warning: I am not a crafty person!!

For this weeks Pinterest challenge, I attempted this:

I made 2 of them because I found so many cute plates that I couldn't stop myself.

This is my final product:

The dip stand on the left is a plastic stripe dinner plate, a plastic Hawaiian flower smaller plate, and an oblong watermelon ceramic bowl.

I didn't want to make two stands but I couldn't leave without buying that carrot and pea plate :) It is not a full sized dinner plate. I then found the brown circle saucer and a tan bowl with a brown stripe.

These were very easy to make. All you need is 2 plates, 1 bowl, 2 candle sticks, and some Gorilla Glue.

I had 2 sizes of candle sticks, a tall one and a very short one. I glued the tall one to the big plate.

After letting it set about 1 minute, I put glue on the top of the candle stick and put the next plate on top of it.

You can measure to find the center of the plates or you can just eyeball it. After letting that set for about 1 minute I then glued the tiny candle stick to the middle plate.

I then glued the top of the stick and placed the bowl on top. The glue instructions said that the items had to set for 30 minutes. After my 30 minutes were up I tested  my dip holders and they were perfect!!

Final product again:

They turned out better than I expected. I can't wait to use the Hawaiian set for some fruit dip and the carrot/pea set for some veggie dip.

    1. It was really easy to make. I love Goodwill for this kind of stuff. I'm sure I could have got cute stuff at Target but I like the quirkyness of the Goodwill stuff better.
